Bastion Lending
Private micro-lending site built on structure and trust — clear eligibility, a six-step process, documentation guidance, and compliance-forward copy from headline to footer.
“Small private lending for income producing needs.”
The Project
Bastion Lending provides small private loans — up to $1,000 — for borrowers putting capital to productive use: tools, equipment, inventory, and short-term operating needs. The site had to establish instant credibility in an industry people are rightfully cautious about.
The Challenge
Lending is the lowest-trust category on the internet. Predatory payday sites have trained people to look for red flags — hype, guarantees, urgency. Bastion needed the opposite signal: structure, restraint, and total clarity about who it's for, who it's not for, and exactly how the process works. One wrong note in the copy and the whole thing reads as a scam.

The Approach
Led with limits, not promises — 'up to $1,000' and 'subject to approval' sit right in the hero. Honesty about constraints is the fastest trust signal in lending.
Mapped the entire funding journey into a six-step process section — inquiry to repayment — so borrowers know exactly what happens and when.
Wrote a 'Who May Not Be a Fit' section — turning away the wrong borrowers on the page builds enormous credibility with the right ones.
Structured documentation guidance up front, including an explicit warning never to upload sensitive documents to the site — responsible handling as a visible feature.
Kept every claim conditional and every disclaimer visible — no guaranteed approvals, no shortcuts, no fine print tricks.
Key Design Decisions
Fortress-calm visual language — solid, structured, and unhurried. A lender named Bastion should feel like one.
Restraint as the aesthetic: no countdown timers, no 'instant cash' energy — the absence of predatory patterns is itself the design statement.
The 'Who May Not Be a Fit' list was given equal visual weight to the sales sections — the most trust-building block on the site.
Process numbers (01–06) as a visual anchor — structure you can see communicates structure you can rely on.
